Overseas Visitors

The Game and Feral Animal Control Act 2002 requires that all overseas visitors in NSW wanting to hunt species listed within the Act must hold a NSW Visitors Game Hunting Licence.

While on a hunt, all holders of a Visitors Licence must also be accompanied at all times by a holder of a full NSW Game Hunting Licence.  The Visitors Licence also only allows the holder the same authority of the accompanying licence-holders licence type (that is: Restricted, including specified categories, or General – Private Property and only with landholders permission).

The Visitors Licence does not supersede, override, or preclude the holder from the requirements of other hunting, firearm, safety, and animal welfare Laws and Regulations currently in place in NSW. Therefore, holders of the Visitors Licence who want to use a firearm must first obtain an appropriate permit from the NSW Firearms Registry (Customer Service LIne 1300 362 562). This requirement is in addition to obtaining the NSW Visitors Game Hunting Licence.

NOTE: The NSW Visitors Game Hunting Licence is available only to overseas visitors at a cost of $100.
